026 We don’t create in a vacuum
Some artists say they refuse to look at other art because they don’t want it to taint their own creative vision. I’m calling BS. Let me explain.
There is a strong argument to be made that suggests OUR creative vision is crafted, both consciously and subconsciously, by the vast multitude of other creative work we have tasted through the course of our whole life. Everything we see, hear, read, experience… it all shapes the way we see the world. Which, in turn, shapes the way our creative voice develops.
